REIKI HEALING
Reiki is a hands-on healing modality in which the practitioner channels life-force energy known as ki or chi to aid the body in healing itself.
A gentle form of energy healing, Reiki is an alternative therapy that targets the energy fields around a person. The goal is to help untangle stuck energy and blocks caused by physical, psychological or emotional pain, which can lead to disease and suffering.
Reiki is used in many hospitals to reduce pain and speed up healing. It can work in conjunction with Western medicine and does not replace medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment by a licensed medical professional. Reiki is an ancient tradition however in the 1920’s, Master Usui from Japan developed and taught his adaptation which is primarily used today.
Reiki is not a treatment for illness or disease and is not intended to replace medical advice or care. It is a non-invasive, gentle touch, complementary therapy.

IN-PERSON REIKI SESSION
Before the hands-on healing begins, we will discuss any challenges, intentions, or specific areas of healing that the client wants to bring forth. Next, you’ll lay down comfortably on a massage table, fully clothed, with your shoes removed. Rachel will place her hands lightly on or over specific areas of the body using different hand shapes and/or symbols.
During a Reiki session, you may feel heat, tingling, pulses, and other forms of release. It’s not uncommon for someone to cry or laugh as they experience Reiki while others may only feel a deep sense of calm.
DISTANCE REIKI SESSION
If a client does not live nearby, distance Reiki is offered as an alternative. Distance healing is possible because life force energy transcends time and space.
You’ll connect with Rachel on the phone at the start of your session. During the energy healing, you’re welcome to lay down or sit comfortably in meditation or rest, or spend time walking in nature. During this part of the session, you won’t be on the phone with Rachel but it’s best to do an activity that helps you stay in the present and connect to your body. After the 45 minutes of distance healing, you’ll reconnect with Rachel on the phone for discussion.
